Description

The asterisk began as a scholar's mark, not a printer's. Before it sat beside a footnote, it sat in the margins of sacred manuscripts, placed there by scribes to flag a line worth a second look, missing, or too important to lose.

Asterisk casts that mark in silver. Four points struck from a single centre, polished until they hold one continuous line of light against a surrounding surface worked matte.
